About
Welcome! I’m Melanie Dragger, founder of Doing Good Communications. After years of experience with educational institutions and nonprofit organizations, I know firsthand the challenges they can face when it comes to developing and implementing a communications plan, including limited budgets, overworked staff, and time constraints. This is the reason I founded Doing Good Communications.
Based in Austin, Texas, I am a communications consultant with more than 15 years of communication management and content development experience with prominent law firms, educational institutions, publishing companies, and nonprofit organizations, including Vinson & Elkins LLP, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, United Way, St. Michael’s Day School, Kirkus Media, American Library Association, and Eanes Education Foundation.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism with honors from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in applied communication with a concentration in public relations and marketing with highest honors from the University of Denver.
If your educational institution or nonprofit organization is in need of communication support, I would love the opportunity to help you. Whether you need assistance with a specific event or ongoing communication management, I will work with you to create a plan customized to meet your needs and budget.
